Hmmmm. Can the 12v power rails be fitted into 9v track sections? If so, you
could have a 9v & a 12v train running concurrently (except if you wanta do
something silly like points!)

| (...) Yes and no. You have to file down some plastic on the inside of the 12v electrified rails to get them to snap onto the 9v tracks. Also, the wheels on the 12v trains knock against the 9v power supply bricks, and can eventually knock the 9v (...) (22 years ago, 15-Aug-02, to lugnet.trains)
