  Re: S@H Summer Catalog

(...) I'd think so! With the bulk ideas, & the new SFSC trains it looks to be that way! Josh (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) It is an interesting idea, the multiple-model sets: they will allow plenty more room for customizations, not to mention the fact that the leftovers will surely be put to use elsewhere. The first atteempt with the locos must have been (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

NILTC at TCA National Convention show a success!

Hi everybody - The Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club had its second show last weekend, June 27-29, at the Train Collectors' Association National Convention. The convention was held at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL. We had a wonderful (...)   Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) Good. They've almost got them to the correct length of 40 studs. KL (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Engine shed design

After having seen the shed shown on the LEGO website in the trains corner and discussing this with some friends, I decided I should "have a go" at it too. My inspiration came from the LEGO design, combined with an old building at Hengelo (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

It looks as if the bases are 32 studs long - which is a new size, we have had 24 & 28 before. David (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Sneak Preview of Pumpkin Coach Car

(...) ...I remember your ghost train and thought it was beautiful and the addition of the Pumpkin Coach is sooo appropriate and a _great_ rendition to boot :-) Cant wait to see it in person again :-) (...) --- wubwub wubwub@wildlink.com jains.has.it (...)   Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) Wow, I love them! And I think it's a good strategy by Lego Direct to create 5 different cars but put the bricks in just 2 different sets. Kind Regards, Ben P.s.: I know Lego Direct cannot do new moulds, but this set would have been even much (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) Holy Cow!! *That* would be AWESOME!!! Also, it appears to me as if the end car uses *clear* macaronis, as I have done here: (URL) also would be cool:-) -John (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: S@H Summer Catalog

(...) What I liked about this was the new "grain elevator" model they have for you to build on the bulk packs pages. I agree, new ones would be nice. But this model is a nice consolation prize. Even with built in letters! PS, trainheads will notice (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Modified LEGO race train motor (it's a screamer)

I can go either way I guess. My first idea was to do the same as James and modify the existing train motor with a new electric motor. I was also playing around with the ideas of which both of you described here...I would assume that powering the (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

Hello Huw, (...) There's another picture above the scanned part where the cars are in a 3D-view. So, yes, it's right, the roofs are built with 3x2 curved bricks. Also the windows are clear panels 1x2x2. There's the slogan "All New Silver Bricks!" (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

(...) Way cool. Of course I'll need more than 5 of these because they need to be "stretched" quite a bit. Something like 50% more should do the trick... that will give room to expand the trucks a bit too. (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

"René Hoffmeister" <rene.hoff@gmx.de> wrote in message news:Gyn28A.13H@lugnet.com... (...) _OR_ (...) Excellent news! Let's hope and prey that the roofs are made from 2x3 curved bricks. Can you tell from the brochure? The look like they might be (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

New Santa Fe Car Sets #10022 and #10025

Hello@all, I didn't found something about #10022 and #10025 in the LUGNET, so I think this is interesting for train fans: (URL) will be two new sets for the Santa Fe Train available in September: #10022; 411 pieces; $34.99: For building a Dining (...)   Sneak Preview of Pumpkin Coach Car

One of the MOC's I plan on displaying at BrickFest this year is my train The Ghostline Express. I had planned on eventually building an orange colored "Pumpkin Coach" for the train but the appearance of the new curved slopes in medium-orange-yellow (...)   Re: Modified LEGO race train motor (it's a screamer)

Whoa. What YOU describe is even more radical. My hypothetical is powered by the 9V supplied by the rails. It just uses some other sort of 9V motor, transmitting motion to the rails some other way than a train motor body/gearing. YOUR hypothetical is (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Modified LEGO race train motor (it's a screamer)

Awwww, I got ya. When you were saying "power to the track" before I kept thinking electrical power, but now I understand what you are thinking. Very interesting concept and I agree with you that maybe there should be an unlimited division to include (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Modified LEGO race train motor (it's a screamer)

(...) What exactly is a "modified train motor" ?? Here's a hypothetical to make it clearer what I am asking. Suppose I construct something that can get 9v power from the track (wipers, a gutted 9V motor perhaps, whatever) and mount a large electric (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Modified LEGO race train motor (it's a screamer)

MSE allows the racer to modify the standard LEGO train engine pretty much anyway that they want. The track will not be modified and will still only supply the standard 9volt current. So the racer must keep that in mind and design his/her (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.trains)
