(...) I wonder if putting the power connectors on switches (turnouts) on the curved outer leg of an unused spur would help at all? Arrange your trackage so that it's the straight leg (where there is no turnout stand to interfere) that is used by the (...) (23 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.trains)

I've seen the Wuppertahnbahn diorama too, it's great! What's the URL again? BTW Have you considered using just the power rails from the 12v system for the upper track. This way you get the power, the single rail look, yet the double rail geometry (...) (23 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) You would only be able to go through the points one direction since they need to be switched to the diverging track in order for the power to be transmitted from the diverging track to the straight track. Frank (23 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) This would be an interesting challenge to work with. You would need to use the 70s era power pickups, and then attach wires to them to power a motor. Narrow tires can be run in the gap between the two rails giving very positive guidance. Frank (23 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) And I just thought, doesn't power still get through to the straight track as the loco passes a "reversed" switch in the wrong direction and pushes the switching rail out of the way? I had an idea the switching of power was done with trickery (...) (23 years ago, 19-Apr-02, to lugnet.trains)
