Re: Pics: Pennsylvania 0-4-0T tank engine

Admittedly, I've never noticed a locomotive like this before. The image that shows the profiles of both your LEGO model and that of the schematic is striking! The scale and call-out of all the distinctive element features is excellent. later, James (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Pics: Pennsylvania 0-4-0T tank engine

Here is a little tanker I built about a year ago and never posted. The exercise for me was to create the most realistic looking MOC that could also be produced as a set by TLC. I also wanted to include in the set a bunch of "train goodies", so that (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Track Designer Registry

At this point I really don't mind what happens to Track Designer, I have zero time to spend on it. I'm basically going to open it up to the community and you guys can do whatever you want with the source, modify it, rewrite it, port it or put the (...)   Re: sfsc b-unit, here is mine

(...) Hi Adrian, Nice looking b-units. Could you tell me how many SFSC sets it took to build both b-units. I'm not aware of what other sets have the grey wheels so it seems to me it took 4 sets to build what you have, including locomotives. Thanks (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Gray VS. Black Metroliner Nose

(...) my defunct voyager site are grey nose jobs I did in 1998... (rummages) ah yes.... (2 URLs) that site needs to be overhauled. Embarassingly poor quality pics and a lot of the models are way way non state of the art for nowadays. (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Gray VS. Black Metroliner Nose

(...) I think I prefer the grey, but that seems to be non-prototypical (in as far as the Metroliner is based on the Metroliner): (URL) C. (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: International LegoTrain Auctions

I look for old 12v and 4.5v trains every week. I used to be able to type in "lego eisenbahn" pull up alot of trains from Germany. Now I can only pull up those sets by going to the international site. I didn't realize there was a change until a few (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Gray VS. Black Metroliner Nose

(...) For those who haven't seen one with a grey nose, Paul B kindly lent me 2 of his grey noses, and I took a side-by-side shot. I think I still prefer the black, but I'm not sure yet... (URL) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Man, I'm trying to get my hands on one of those. I don't have one, and have never had one in my hand. Pity... -Rob "Frank Filz" <ffilz@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:3C8E7658.9EE9C5...ing.com... (...) of (...) results. (...) experienced (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Track Designer Registry

(...) While I like Java more than most, that would be a complete rewrite, ne? And I have to agree with Kevin D. (and Joel, his reference, whom I've enjoyed reading for years now) that a complete rewrite is hardly ever a good idea. But then I'm an (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

(...) Run under linux? music to my ears... Rather than move to .NET would you (Matt) consider moving it to a more cross-platform system, such as Java? --Bill. (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Track Designer Registry

(...) Personally, I think a rewrite would be a bad idea, although some reorganizing of the code might be good. (keep in mind I haven't seen the code) Typically what happens in largish software projects is they go along for a few years, adding (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  International LegoTrain Auctions

Before the end of last year, I purchased several 12 volt Lego trains off of ebay from sellers in Europe. When I would search, I would get many results. Now when I search, I get no results from Europe? Has anyone else experienced this? I was (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: train motors (was Re: TEXLUG Meeting Wrap-up)

(...) Well yes that's true, or you could just open the motor and reverse some of the wiring inside so that the motor runs the opposite direction of a stock motor, but I really doubt it would be worth the effort. If you really want to crash them, (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: train motors (was Re: TEXLUG Meeting Wrap-up)

Hate to disagree with you Robert, but the LEGO train motors don't work that way. It doesn't matter which way you put them on the track, they will all travel in the same direction. You can not run to motors on the same loop of track in opposite (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)
