Thanks for all the input from everyone.  I was not aware of the current
limitation.  What if I connect 2 train leads from 2 different train
controllers power by 2 toy transformers to a single track loop.  Would this
help the current limitation?  Would this give me twice the current?

As the previous messages indicate, you do not need more current or more motors.
You need to put your motors under heavier locomotives.  Lar is right, the
Metroliner engine is too lightweight.  If you have some Lego weight bricks, try
placing them inside your Metroliner engine.

Also, unless I missed it, you have not yet tried putting a motor on your 10020
locomotive.   Try this and then see how much it can move with just 1 motor and
1 power supply.  You can even add a Lego weight brick or two to the inside of
the 10020.

And back to what Ben stated:  there may be quality issues with one or more of
your wheel assemblies.  Check them each out to see if they spin freely with
your finger.  If you have any that do not spin freely, then swap them out for
some that do.  And if the wheels really do not move well at all, consider
getting them replaced by Lego customer service.

These tips should help....

Kevin, I understood the problem I now have but my electrical current limit question was "ANOTHER" question that I had that I came up with as I read about the issues involved of running 3+ motors on the same track with only 1 train controller. Since (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)
