Re: Santa Fe Super Chief Train Engine Registry

You're just trying to make work for me aren't you John? :) The only problem with setting the Registry up so that you can update your information is that I would have to have some kind of login system so I know it's you changing your stuff. Maybe I (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: I've got mine (too)!!!

(...) To answer your question is ...yes... LEGO got permission to use and produce the stickers of BNSF logo. I am not sure what deal was made. And I believe BNSF wants or would like to sell the set in their company store for BNSF employees. Also (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: I've got mine (too)!!!

(...) From what I've heard/read, Santa Fe will be allowed to sell the model in their gift shops. I'll bet that was the deal made... Dean (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: I've got mine (too)!!!

(...) Oh, I doubt that they paid anything to do it-- they just were covering their bases. There's got to be some unwritten rule (maybe it is written somewhere) allowing model railroad set manufacturers to reproduce train logos new and old. Why (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: I've got mine (too)!!!

(...) I wonder if part of the real issue is they had to pay for the license up front to BNSF for a specific number and therefore since they were limited anyway, they just went ahead and made this a "first-edition" collectors item. Steve Martin (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Santa Fe Super Chief Train Engine Registry

(...) Which brings to mind an interesting point: Is it *really* scrapping if the set never got built in the first place? (as will be the case with mine) Perhaps I'll have to buy a third to build for comparison. And perhaps I'll buy another one to (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 10020 limited to 10000 sets or not?

i agree with this sentiment. in my mind limited edition in the case of the super chief is a short production run of 10,000 and NO MORE. what's the point of having a LIMITED EDITION if only a second run is going to be made with the only difference (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: I've got mine (too)!!!

Hi everyone! I'm now the happy owner of two Santa Fe Super Chief engines (number A6195 and A6465). I placed my order the 18th and today (the 21st) they had arrived (here in Belgium). The big box says "Limited Edition" in the lower right corner, and (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)
