And the 7864 is a real transformer with much better speed regulation. And you
have the AC 13V outlet for light.

If shipping wasn't that expensive. You can get these transformers almost
wwekly for less than 25 $ at eBay.de . And there is still the possibility to
get used track of the grey era quite cheap. I think the average price for 8
sections of curved track (rails+12V conductor rails) is not more than 6 ... 8$.
Straight track is much more requested and has a price of maybe 12 .. 15 $ per
meter. Blue track from the 70ies is even cheaper...
