Has anybody used the technic speedster on a train?

This is set 5206 and gives the speed and distance of technic vehicles. Has anybody fitted one to a train - and if so how difficult is it? I think it was used at the the Lego train World Record in Seattle. David (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)
