  Water/Coal Tower

Hi! I'm not sure if I'm using the correct steam-era lingo, but has anyone successfully constructed an authentic looking water tower? How about a coal tower? I'd like a place for my 4-4-0 to stop for refueling. I've looked at various pictures of (...) (26 years ago, 21-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Zany Brainy train exclusive

I went to Zany Brainy yesterday & met up with a fellow LEGO nut -- he works at the store. His manager mentioned that Zany Brainy will be getting two train "Zany Brainy exclusives" from TLG; a LEGO train & a DUPLO train. Now, he didn't know any more (...)   Train motors/engine

I am bored.... I was watching a video on old and new trains. (sigh) I want... train doors and windows in the colors of red, yellow, blue, white, black, and gray. But in small packeges, like you get in S@H. I wanted to say something...... Well, I was (...) (26 years ago, 20-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New 9v Train Engine

(...) I hacked around with mine after I wrote the review, and so far I've tried the following things, separately and together: Changed the stack to be a 1x1 round. Too small for US practice. Back to 2x2. Put a dome behind the stack. Helps. A square (...) (26 years ago, 20-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

I'm glad, because after I hit the post button for the last time (it's on RTL too) I re-read it and thought I really ripped the set. I tend to be a harsh grader. This (...)   Re: What does everyone think of the Freight and Crane Railway?

(...) Well, it's clearly a matter of opinion, I guess. I feel this is about the worst of the 9V engines. There's just something about those slanted cab windows that strikes me as cheesy. I like the 4563 and the 4551 croc engines better, then 4565, (...) (26 years ago, 18-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  New 9v Train Engine

I got mine in the was a week or so ago. I took off some of the grey pieces(including the lights in front) and replaed with black. Also added a small 1x1 round black smoke stack. VERY NICE any other modifacations out there? (26 years ago, 17-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

Re: What does everyone think of the Freight and Crane Railway?

I agree that for playability its one of the better sets. But, I think the 4564 Engine is the best of the 9v trains. (...) (26 years ago, 17-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)
