  FOTY - Xmas in July

Havent had a decent find for a while then today, found an almost MISB 4558 Metroliner. I say almost as one bag has been opened, but the rest are still sealed. Whey hey! Trouble is I think I might have developed collectoritis, as now I am scared to (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jul-00, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.trains)

  train display shelf at work

Hi All, I rebuilt a shelf that use to be in my old house to fit nicely in my new office at work. Every night I store the trains in a locked drawer. I would hate to loose one of these guys! Wow, weird. I reread my message, and I hope you didn't think I was challenging you. When you said that they like the high hood design I did not know that you meant that they liked the high hood design for no other reason than they wanted it that (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) it (...) Hi John, I'm fine, although yesterday was the last day of my summer hollidays... Since I do own much more 12V stuff than 9V (especially track), I will let this engine be a 12V version. But I really think about painting a 9V motor in (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New train MOCs

(...) My understanding of it is that if the engine has both Dynamic Brakes and a Steam heater, that problems with space resulted, so you ended up with a high nose. I also think that this is less true in the more modern engines, which usually have (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New train MOCs

I do not know about the EMD GP38 or the SD40-2, but usually the high nose was for generating steam for passneger trains. I am sure if I have this info wrong I'll be corrected, but I think I am right. Chris (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jul-00, to lugnet.trains)
