  Re: Do decals come off?

(...) I'd be cautious about using any sort of soluvant to remove stickers. I used some "goo-gone" or something like that to remove the sticker goo on the back of a CD case and ended up having the stuff eat the cd case! (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Future plans

Yesterday I picked up a second 4559, next on the agenda (soon) two or three 4561s...the car chassis from the 4559s will be turned into TTX type flatcars and the passenger cars from 4561s will be "modified to create better looking passenger cars...my (...)   9v idea book: expanding on what I said earlier

There is going to be one hard and fast rule for this book. All models for which instructions are shown have to use elements that have been used by TLG in a recent set that people are likely to be able to get. This is an idea book so everything we (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Longest train...

(...) I have a video clip of it in the 72 car version, the present one just has more cars...however, I cannot get it up on my geocities account, and have been too busy to get my Roadrunner account page setup. As for Ben's question, a mixture, with (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Do decals come off?

If you go to the Hobby Store and talk to one of the knowledgeable individuals they will point you in the direction of I believe "easy off" by Polly Scale. I've had my can for almost 5 years and can remove decals that have been on for years or cover (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Longest train...

(...) This must be an awsome sight. That train must be in excess of 40 feet long. What is your track layout to allow for this train? Do you have pictures? (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Do decals come off?

Decals that have had nothing sprayed on them should come off fine if you soak them long enough. They adhere with a water based adhesive. Solvaset basically softens the plastic enough to get it to conform to irregular surfaces, so you SHOULD still be (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

New Picts, old model: Double Decker Passenger train

Nothing new about this German red double decker passenger train except for some new pictures. (URL) was able to borrow a digital camera and do better than laying the model on its side on a flatbed scanner finally. The double decker train is still in (...)
