  Interest in set 5561

I was reading a discussion thread the other day on set 5561, and was wondering why the interest in it? Its a Model Team set, does it have a special piece that is only available in it? Just curious. (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pantograph powered LEGO trains?

Those of you that don't know... Brian is a "stealth" member of GMLTC, he doesn't live in the Twins any more but still comes out for shows. While he is from the "paint and stickers are OK" school of modeling, which I don't normally hold truck with, (...) Holy Cow, look who delurked;-) Nice model and photo detail; perhaps you could share some of your photography secrets with us camera-impaired types? BTW, think you can make it to La Crosse in March? -John (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.us.gmlug, lugnet.trains.org)

  BayLTC Logo finished

I have just finished the BayLTC logo to the best of my ability. I have made it in both a windows metafile, which will retain its sharpness regardless of the size it is printed, which is excellent for banners, and a gif for easy viewing. It can be (...)   Re: Attaching train bogies

I built a flat-bed car which used 2 of the newer style rounded Technic beams to connect to the bogie plate. Seems to work pretty good. Just the right thickness for the stud on the bogie plate. Tim Strutt 8^) (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Greetings!

Hello to all the other GMLTC members. I really should read this group more often (I spend way too much time on robotics). Anyways, I won't be able to make the LaCrosse show (again :-( ) due to a conflict with one of my local shows. Just to let those (...)   Re: Pantograph powered LEGO trains?

(...) You are absolutely right, Lar. According to largescale.com, there are 7 different scales that run on #1 Gauge track. LGB is 1:22.5, Aristo-craft is 1:29 (except their Classic series, which is 1:24, USA trains and Bachman are (I think) 29:1. (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  A Question

As a professional observer, I have noticed something. There seems to be a large segment of the LUG that collect MISB, un-opened sets, with the intention of keeping them this way. I am not trying to ruffle any feathers, just genuinely curious as to (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LL Trains (was Re:8 wide and bigger(was Re: 8 Wide)

John (and others, except James Powell who no doubt knows this already) You toss around "G Scale" a lot but unlike most other gauges, G isn't really just one scale. LGB is narrow gauge and thus is to a bigger scale (22:5 to 1??) than some of the (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)
