  5561 $40 at kbkids.com - train windows/doors

Get them before they're gone, some of us have been buying a lot of them ;-) If you use the coupon found at flamingoworld.com or deal-finder.com, you can save another 20%, knocking them down to $32! -- | Tom Stangl, Technical Support Netscape (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Looking for windows?

(...) Sure. However hysteresis applies and it's pretty steep. I'll trade 2 of my van window glass for 1 train window glass or you can trade 5 of YOUR van window glass for one of MY train window glass... let me know which way you want to go... :-) (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

I would have said 7838, but the year is wrong(83) . But then, so is 7823 (86). Scott A (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Thanks for the info, Mike I just saw it on a mini scan and I didn't see the back window, I thought they left the back open. even better then! JM (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: What kind of motor comes with the 4559?

(...) That does follow from electrical theory. Two motors draw more current, which is going to result in a larger voltage drop over the rails (since V=IR). Of course since we don't have an ideal power supply, the actual calculation is not quite so (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: What kind of motor comes with the 4559?

(...) Our one does. I have an engine are each end (toot toot {1}). But I do hate the hook-up system in these sets... stupid stupid stupid. I keep meaning to replace it with a magnetic one, and extent the back of the cab to form another cargo (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: black metroliner gif

Hi Kevin, nice work! I like your real black Club Car too. I also have done some similar work, using the parts of three 4559 train sets and several model team vehicles. The baseplates of the 4560 train are really great for MOCs, even if the rest of (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.publish)

Has anyone successfully ordered 3405 from S@H? The other two aren't even out yet, and that one doesn't seem to be in any stores. -- Paul Davidson Jean-marc Détraz <moratel@auracom.com> wrote in message news:FoAtDz.B8I@lugnet.com... (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: PNLTC GATS

I have an idea, why don't all the "friends of PNLTC" send e-mail to GATs (www.gats.com) mentioning that seeing LEGO train layouts is the reason you go to GATS. SteveB LTC's of the world unite! (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  black metroliner gif

I'm not sure who did the original metroliner gif, but I just fiddled with the colors to make a black version with trans-lt-blue glass: (URL) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.publish)

Re: What kind of motor comes with the 4559?

I'm not sure I understand the question exactly, but they all have the same motor. It's just incorporated differently into the engine model. The 4559 does not have the motor connected by a bogey plate, like the 4565, if that's what you're asking. It (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: What kind of motor comes with the 4559?

Actually, to light up the 4559, you only need the 1x2 light brick, and the 2x4 electric plate, both from 5310. I did this with my 4559. Tim Strutt 8^) (...) sure (...) 9v (...) how (...) "black (...) a (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: What kind of motor comes with the 4559?

(...) Do you perhaps mean a different set? 4559 (ref: (URL) ) has a little tiny engine built on top of the motor unit. It's difficult to see how to give it two motors. Even the alternate steamer has only one. (oh how I long for the days when Lego (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: What kind of motor comes with the 4559?

Ben ... IMHO the 4559 locomotive is great! They just beg to be built with two motors ... they're just the right weight to give two motors excellent traction. Two two motor units will pull more cars than the magnetic couplers can handle! To add (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  PNLTC GATS

We hopefully will be showing on Feb 19-20, 2000 at the Portland, OR GATS. We also got the "well, we might be full reply." I hope we get squeezed in! I'll post when I get more info. And we always enjoy VIPs (aka out of towners) for the weekend. (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Looking for windows?

They actually provide 7 train windows, since they are 6 wide and have a window on the back. Also, they have 2 6 wide windshields. Mike Jean-marc Détraz <moratel@auracom.com> wrote in message news:FoAtDz.B8I@lugnet.com... (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)
