  Re: directional lighting

(...) There are two kinds of Lego lights. #1 - While powered up, they shine constantly, with brightness in direct proportion to how much juice they are getting, i.e. a faster setting = more light. This is independant of the polarity, meaning that (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: directional lighting

(...) With only ordinary lights, there is no directionality. If you use the special L&S element you'll get steady in one direction and flashing in the other. There is no all LEGO way to get 9V directional lighting at present that I am aware of. PS I (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

  directional lighting

I have a question. Suppose I have a Metroliner (I wish!) that has a motor and working headlights in both engines. When the train is moving, will both engines' lights light up, or do only the lights light up for that direction? In other words, will (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: broken motor

(...) I shan't. You don't have a broken motor. Claiming that you do and you want a free replacement is fraud. You should have procured spares when you had the chance, they were available from Lego UK. Or I'll sell you one of mine, USD 100. (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

Hi Scott ... give LEGO S@H (800.453.4652) a call ... they might be able to get you a replacement. Good luck and play well, - Nick - (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

Naive Sellers (Was Re: 4561 alternates (was: sale at kbkids)

(...) Seriously though, buying 4547s for $38 from Emmanuel is like taking candy from a baby. I hate to see a good trader like Emmanuel literally screw himself out of $1000s. I would feel funny being the "lucky" buyer. -John (follow-up to debate) (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: broken motor

(...) Try the following - call consumer affairs to see if they have any. Tell them it's the same motor used in the 6991 which is the most recent vintage monorail... - Watch for someone selling either just the motor (it is a service pack item, and (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)
