Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) A brief update ... I got it built a while ago but only today tried putting it on the tracks. Bad news, I'm afraid. To make it work on LEGO curves, you need to remove the 4x6 tile with technic peg from the 3-axle trucks and add some tiles (...) (18 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) [...] (...) Pretty nifty indeed. But yellow? I'll assume that this (...) was supposed to mean that all of the parts that you needed came in yellow, so that's the color you chose? Mmmm.... tequila.... Chris (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) It's another Tequila sunrise! No, wait, this is the first one! Wow, that's as impressive a MOC as it is brightly colored, Tony! You've captured the streamlined twenties look very well-- nice and clean, and well-rounded. It looks fast just (...) (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: FRED- flashing rear end device

In lugnet.trains, Benn Coifman wrote: <snippage> (...) Good work, Benn! I had wanted to do the same thing with my Huskey Stacks, but I was deterred by the cumbersome LEGO lighting. I think I'll just stick with my hidden light trick on my Bethgon:-) (...) (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Who has made LDD truck/bogie designs?

I know that people have come up with some creative truck/bogie designs for their rolling stock. So maybe we could collect a bunch of them so that builders could choose from a variety of designs. I thought of this because I was considering updating (...) (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FRED- flashing rear end device

(...) I like this idea - it adds a nice bit of realism to modern train consists! Too bad Lego lighting wasn't smaller, but for what you had to work with, vool job for sure! And I just saw a History Channel show on trains and they said that trainmen (...) (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Thanks! I love Flickr, it's really helped the building process when it comes to things like these. There aren't too many shopes that carry the 4x4 dome piece I used around, but they are there. (URL) Thanks for the reply! --Tony (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Thanks! The stickers I intend to add won't do much to change the overall look, they'll mainly just be adding text too small to have been created through LEGO means. I had some reservations with the color scheme, but it was different so I went (...) (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Thanks! It helps that I gave up and spent the money on a good camera and a good lighting set up, after years of trial and error trying to make what little I had on hand work. This locomotive was a fun build, but a real pain to photograph given (...) (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

  FRED- flashing rear end device

(URL) FRED- Flashing Rear End Device (URL) Full Gallery> (once moderated) Inspired by one of John Neil's hopper cars with an integrated FRED, I set out to build my own for the double stacks. It took me a while to actually get one of the smaller (...) (18 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

Nicely done Tony. I snuck in a few peeks on the Flickr page last week, and saw that it was really coming together. Turned out great. The cow-catcher came out very well using that method. I'm still dabbling with my Hudson streamline concepts... I (...) (18 years ago, 16-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Great! Creates this nice envious 'want THAT too...'-feeling inside :-) It is okay to add stickers, but already not necessary, since it actually looks fully developed. Also the colour scheme is ok, it reminds a little bit of a comic style. (...) (18 years ago, 16-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) ... Hi, I'm guilty of never finding time to post feedback. Be assured that, with or without stickers, I greatly appreciate the originality of your trains MOCs and the care you take to present them to us through photos of quality.   The Tequila Sunrise

Here's my latest steam engine I've been working on. It's lacking stickers, but someday I'll find a printer that can print decent stickers from home. Till then I'll have to wait till I can find the time to borrow the use of my father's printer. (2 (...) (18 years ago, 16-May-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX) !!

  Re: Kuranda Scenic Railway v2

(...) It looks damn close to the original and I like the engine compartment detailing :) It looks to me like it is backwards but I'm used to some of the older UK stock that is controlled from the back. (18 years ago, 15-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Anyone free for dinner on Wed. May 16, 2007?

Hi, all.... I'm in Minneapolis for a convention through Wednesday afternoon, but my flight back home leaves at 9:15 pm. Is anyone in the downtown area (I'm staying at the Millenium) who would like to meet up for an early dinner or a drink? You can (...)   Re: NedTrain 700 class shunter

(...) Hey, Tim. Great loco! The lime color scheme is very nice. My only complaint would be the lime slopes. It looks, to me, from the prototype, that the sides are flat. Would it be possible to use tiles instead? Or are you just trying to show off (...) (18 years ago, 12-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Northern Pacific SW1200

(...) Thanks for the suggestion, Mat. I'm going to pic up some waterslide decals at the hobby shop later so I'll make sure to get some brass rod while I am there.
