Re: Reply from Chris Di MasiRe: Hobby Train & 9V motor

(...) --snip-- Hi Tim and Chris, Thanks for the explanations, I suspected these were the type of complexities you guys had to deal with in bringing about this ultimately great set. In retrospect I hope my post didn't sound too critical. Really the (...) (18 years ago, 6-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Reply from Chris Di MasiRe: Hobby Train & 9V motor

--snip-- Chris has asked me to post the following as he's having troubles posting to lugnet at the moment Paul and David, Yes, the models were tweaked after they were submitted by the LEGO fans. Most of the tweaks involved removing unsupported (...) (18 years ago, 5-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Hobby Train & 9V motor

(...) I don't think I'm giving anything away to say that it was the latter but not for that reason. The renders are from earlyish last year, the final models are from much more recently. (...) That is most likely an 'illegal build' technique that (...) (18 years ago, 5-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Hobby Train & 9V motor

(...) Haven't gotten to that model yet but, for a less drastic example, (URL) #05> (one of my favorites) does require a tweak to add a motor because the 2x6 plate on the base blocks the hole for the motor pin. Easy enough to fix with the left over (...) (18 years ago, 5-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Hobby Train & 9V motor

I have tried to fit the 9V motor to the Hobby Train Tram. The tram has 2 bogies on 8 studs long, the other 9 studs long. The picture shows the motor, which is 10 studs long, replacing the 8 stud bogie. Therefore the "buffers" have to extend 1 stud (...) (18 years ago, 5-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

(...) To quote the other Tim several times. "wow, wow, wow" I can't remember the last time I saw such an impressive collection of consistently great trains (and boat!) Somehow you have also managed to get a feeling of 'bulk' with them, I at first (...) (18 years ago, 4-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

danish trains for the danish train museum

Hello! After a break from building I have been working on some danish trains the last few months. I have them right now for exibition at the danish train museum together with my railferry. All the trains are danish from an old steamtrain to the (...) (18 years ago, 3-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 6-wide Canadian Pacific GE ES44AC

(...) Chris, After building your Prime Mover from the PDF I started in on the loco. I just finished building the loco from the PDF. It was only a little harder than one of James' designs.   Re: Penobscot Building NMRA 2007 preview

(...) Jonathan, thanks for the comments. It means a lot comming from you. I more or less like how the Penobscot turned out but it is not as detailed as my previous skyscraper the David Stott building. Of course if you look at the real Penobscot vs (...)   Re: Northern Pacific SW1200

(...) Pretty slick! Very good detail all around and clever tricks abound. I like the spark arresters on the stacks. The rear of the cab looks well detailed, do you have a photo of the rear when it is all together too? The only suggestion I have is (...) (18 years ago, 1-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

We could have an opening for the pin on the motor trucks to move around in, like you have done with the 3-axle trucks. And instead of the half-pin currently used, (...)
