  Re: Trans-Siberian Railway

(...) Tim, your model is very nice. I live in Russia (and used to live in SU before). When I was a student, I travelled with these trains a lot. Since Russian is my native language I can help you to translate something to English with a pleasure (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: It's coming (new hint daily)

(...) That's a lot of green & yellow, and I'm guessing that the blue is filler for.... a 7' tall Crayola Box, which happens to be unsuitable for a SCLTC train layout. -nick (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

Anyone else going to BrickFest this year with a train in tow?

Hi All, I was wondering who was going to BrickFest this year and what you're bringing? And how about a list of MOCs you want others to bring so you can see them in person! Also, does anyone want to hear about a specific topic in a session; DCC, BBB (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains)

Hint #6: (I promised 1 per day, but so far I'm honoring every (good) guess with an additional hint.) Height: 7 feet -Ted (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

Re: It's coming (new hint daily)

(...) Steve- Catalina Island would certainly be topical. And fun. Answer: No. Extended answer. It's not a train. I posted to trains because it's being done by an LTC (just to prove we are versatile?). -Ted (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

Re: It's coming (new hint daily)

Go with the gut... a Catalina Island map? I would have gone with mosaic too, but them it wouldn't be posted here under .trains! ;) BTW is the fact that it's posted here mean its a train? SteveB (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

Nice Side Bar on .Train web page

Re: It's coming (new hint daily)

(...) Adrian- Well, it IS the year of the Avacado, SCLTC IS going to OCF, and one could make a huge avacod with that many green bricks. Answer: No. Extended answer: The Big Thing will make its debut at the 2005 Orange County Fair. -Ted (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

Re: It's coming (new hint daily)

(...) John- That sounds like a lot of fun! Answer: No. Extended answer: You speculate accurately on the blue bricks. We have already received 20,000 blue 2x2 bricks and have 12,000 more on order for this project. -Ted (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

  Re: Trans-Siberian Railway

Re: It's coming (new hint daily)

(...) Well, I do recall seeing an announcement of SCLTC going to the Orange County Fair, and, according to their site, it's the year of the avacado. So, you plan on building a giant avacado made of LEGO bricks. Adr. (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

(...) Very good MOCs. You have catche the rounded shape very well.   Re: Trainset Poll

(...) Me too. (1) Although I think the 'financially viable' poll is a lot easier, I think that picking the most famous sets like the Scotsman, or the shinkasen(sp) would probably be best. (...) LMAO! Legoswami (1) ALTHOUGH I can't vote anyway.... (19 years ago, 20-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: It's coming (new hint daily)

(...) Janey- Actually, I think a 100 (48 x48) baseplate mosaic would be cool. Tha would get the resolution up to 480 x 480 or 75% of VGA, which is a lot better than the 8 baseplate x 3 baselplate mosaic we just presented to Northwood High School in (...)   Re: Trainset Poll

(...) Hey, this isn't JLug! the problem was that I wanted it to be more than a just 'pick one' type poll, but the other options, such as rating each set, would be a mammoth task just to complete it. I suppose I could have done it as an order of (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: It's coming (new hint daily)

(...) I will start, since mosaics have a bit more than 2000 bricks per base plate, I will guess a super huge 100 baseplate mosaic.... although I dont really think that is it that would be cool! Janey "I suck at guessing, Red Brick" (19 years ago, 19-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

  Re: Trainset Poll

(...) Er, well, with the first poll, I have a problem. You said "don't pick them all" but I WOULD buy them all. Every one of those is a worthy enough suggestion that I'd buy it if it came out. So now what? (insert "this poll is flawed" snide remark (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Trainset Poll

Well after much messing around in the background (1)I have finally finished the poll entries. I have changed it from what I (URL) originally envisioned>. There are now two polls, each one contains all the entries, whether complete set or (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  It's coming (new hint daily)

Hi- SCLTC is up to something big. We will post a hint daily. You are invited to guess what we are doing. If, by chance, you know what we're doing, then it would not be a guess for you to respond here. Have fun! -Ted Michon SCLTC (19 years ago, 19-Jun-05, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.build, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org.scltc, lugnet.loc.us.ca, lugnet.town, FTX) !

  M>ltc at Morwell, June 11-13

M>ltc displayed our current layout at the Latrobe Valley Train Show on June 11-13.   Re: Nominations for a trainset poll

Right, its been a long time but I've finally got myself into gear to create the content for the poll so I can create the actual poll itself quite quickly Most of my ideas for entries already seems to have been done by James Mathis so here are a (...)   Re: Trans-Siberian Railway

--SNIP-- (...) --SNIP-- I do prefer the Pendolino to the Voyager (and they are much more comfortable to travel in) but mostly it was the challenge of working out how to do the front in a six-wide train.
