After many, many months of getting people to join in, planning and building, Southern California REALLY DOES HAVE A LEGO TRAIN CLUB! Our participation at this weekend's GATS in Anaheim, CA proved to be very successful and we came out with a first (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

I'm really quite impressed with this. Now, if it were a 0-8-0, it would probably look more like a "real" loco than my Caribou that is downstairs! Please congratulate your son for the good work. WOW! I love how its powered (Chain drive...)! Did you notice missing parts!? Or are they his Personal parts? I think I'll hide my 4-4-0 American longer... Gotta catch some of that detail. Just wish those 9v motors came in red. Anyways, GREAT job! (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

My 12 year old son presented me with this loco for Christmas (which he secretly built)-- I was, to say the least, quite impressed with it! Here is how he describes it: It is an 8 wide engine with a 5 wide boiler, with the six drivers powered by a 9 (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)
