(...) Just some information. I see that you use only 2 red LED's for the crossing signal. If you use the round 1x1 bricks, then you can pull the wires through the hole of these bricks. I guess I am going to show my age here. In Los Angeles, in the forties, the trolleys had a pole on both ends and the conductor simply pulled one down and raised the other. He then sat in the seat at the other end of the car and went the opposite (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Hi, I'm converting some 12V trains to 9V. To match the new motors as close as possable I want to have a plate _under_ the trainwheels. But while testing this 1 train had problems with a switch (it derailed) while an other didn't. Does anyone have (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Small nit here: The track gauge is closest to "O" (but slightly wider), and *8* wides are closest in width to "O" cars (almost exactly). I have found that LEGO printing leaves a lot to be desired these days. Quality control on this is not what it used to be. However I actually prefer the new angle stripes over the old curve style. Looks more modern or something. But i do hope it (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Why is it that there is such a huge chunk of the MRR hobby (both Lego and traditional) that puts sooooo much time into automation? My personal suspicion is that it's just because automation is cool and fun, but I'm not sure. A lot of the stuff that (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)
