Re: Are LEGO "Train" Clubs endanger of becoming LEGO "Town" Clubs?

A very interesting question, JT. As for my own club, the GMLTC, I know that we won't be including a train yarn in our initial building phase because some perceive cars just sitting on tracks as "boring". Nothing could be further from the truth for (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Thanks to SCLTC and others

Mike, I have a bunch of pictures but at 1.3 meg each I am having difficulty in finding a place for them. Any suggestions? The display was huge (even by general model railroading standards) and no amount of pictures would do it justice. LLCA was a (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Kim posted a few from the event at: (URL) have ~1000+ pictures to sort, arrange, and weedout, and we're building the Gallery on the PNLTC site right now. We decided not to through up ~1000+ on brickshelf in random order. I'll post an anouncement as (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Are LEGO "Train" Clubs endanger of becoming LEGO "Town" Clubs?

Are LEGO "Train" Clubs endanger of becoming LEGO "Town" Clubs? I have notice that over the past 6 months or so that much of the talk and pictures from LTCs has been more of non-train related town structures than of engines, rolling stock and train (...)   Re: Building an E-6 Atlantic 4-4-2

(...) -A good choice of prototype- there is another option btw, for a x-4-x drivered engine, and that is a 4-4-4 like a F2A or F2 Jubilee of the CPR (and I think D&H also had some). F2A has steam speed record verified by Dyno. car in Canada, at (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Building an E-6 Atlantic 4-4-2

John, Your Hiawatha is great. I am going to need many more curved bricks before I can try a streamliner. As for the front truck, I thnk I am going to try the small red spoked wheels. The front truck will need to swing under the pistons on curves. (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

RE: Building an E-6 Atlantic 4-4-2

Bob Glad to see you putting the rims to good use! Is the boiler 5 wide? And cab 6 wide? Hard to tell, black is a pain to photograph. Instead of the rods on the linkage, how about half beams? Thanx, Mark Millère LUGnet # 525 Visit Milissa's LEGO (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Building an E-6 Atlantic 4-4-2

Very nice, Bob! I too have built an Atlantic so I feel as if I know what you're going through (albeit a streamlined one which pulled the famous Milwaukee Road's Hiawatha passenger train). A 4-4-2 is a good choice, IMO, because it is easier to manage (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)
