Re: building a coupler without using a coupler piece...

(...) I am still working on the design, but check out my locomotive couplers: (URL) makes it around curves, is at the right level and looks pretty decent. Jake --- Jake McKee AFOL LUGNET Member #211 (23 years ago, 29-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

  a good reference book?

i'm sort of on the verge of diving into trains and was wondering what some good reference books would be to pick up, ones that have some nice detailed pictures and such. also, what's this debate of 8-wide versus 6-wide? i don't quite get it. thanks.   Re: HP-Set-Pictures at 1000steine.de

The wheels looks like regular adventurer car hubs. I've built a train with these wheels and they work on regular track but not over switches/points because of the outer flange. Since the set doesn't include track, it seems to be designed as a push (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

(...) This is sheer speculation... It could be that LEGO is trying to develop a market for the train line. Buying a train set (even a LEGO train set) is different than buying a LEGO set. Buying a train set makes people think train track, train (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)
