Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

Shaun, I've seen your work on brickshelf before and I am just floored by the detail. You are, by far, one of the best lego modelers out there. 8 Your attention to detail is clearly seen in the beautiful re-creations of WWII and Star Wars machines. I (...)   Re: GMLTC Web Site?

(...) Another option would be our BrickShelf galleries: (URL) Siskind also has some layout images in his 'gallery': (URL) GMLTC gmltc_j1 .at. yahoo.com (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: GMLTC Web Site?

(...) We're offline for a while longer. John "J-3" Kelly got a new high-speed connection last week, he's working on getting it set up for hosting multiple sites. Hopefully we can be back up in a week or so, then we can start redesigning the entire (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sets

(...) Thanks, Jojo. It definitely sounds like a lame excuse, no matter which way you decipher it. What kind of cats does he have that would destroy all the books, whether with claws or bladders? Bengal tigers? Bah...I'm waiting for these sets to hit (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Sets

Hello! (...) Hahaha! No! It means: "My cats destroyed the instruction books". No word of peeing :-) (...) Not really idiomatically. But the sense in this case may be the same. Bye Jojo (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Sets

(...) Alta Vista translates it as "My cats made themselves tonight over the guidances." That sounds, to me, like his cats peed on the instructions. Funny stuff. I wonder if that's the German way of saying "my dog ate my homework." Neat looking (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.theory)

  GMLTC Web Site?

Is the GMLTC web site available anywhere? According to John Kelley ((URL) is was going offline and it doesn't seem to be back up. I was hoping to reference some of the great GMLTC pictures for a show handout I am putting together for NCLUG's display (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Trains at BrickFest

As Christina mentioned, Tom Cook and I will be hosting/coordinating the train room at Brickfest. Tom and I are leaning toward the idea of a layout that we can take our time constructing and enjoy the process. We're encouraging a free-form layout (...)   Re: Sets

(...) Why should friction be a problem? Those wheels could slip and slide like any other - it's only if you power them you need a good grip, and then you'd probably use a standard 9V train motor, which has tyres. It would probably make a better (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Sets

(...) Looks like 9V buffers on the front, just like the CGI train on the Harry Potter software box picture posted earlier. It also looks like the engine has a wagon plate for a base (2 plates high) like the MOT. The spacing of the front two wheels (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)

Re: Harry Potter sets on Ebay

(...) Check out the wheels on the engine. They look like they are the type that come on the advetures cars/trucks - but are black?? I can't quite make out if they have a track rim or not. Any thoughts?? Scott A (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: A question about Insulation between tracks

After I used successfully insulated tracks as below in my RCX Controlled Train Projects, I found a little problem, the train has to be run in higher speed, or it will be stop at insulated track. |---| +========O=====O===...===- (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sets

(...) Didn't LEGO® use that arrangement in their Twisted Time Train set? -Harvey (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Sets

(...) Well, now it's closed, and simply says at the top: Für diesen Artikel werden keine Gebote mehr entgegengenommen. Der Verkäufer hat diese Auktion vorzeitig beendet. Sollten Sie weitere Fragen haben, wenden Sie sich bitte an den Verkäufer. (Or, (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Sets

(...) Seem reasonable to me. My German ain't the greatest and no time to babelize it (in MSP airport and have to dash for a flight in 5 min) but I am reading that this auction is for the instructions only and it seems to have reached 1000 DM (but (...)   Re: Harry Potter sets on Ebay

(...) It's just a 1x2x2 thin-wall window. The 'window' towards the front of the train doesn't have any 'glass'. There are two 1x1 bricks behind it (towards the back of the locomotive.) JohnG, GMLTC (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Harry Potter sets on Ebay

(...) Check out the windows on the Hogwarts Express Engine from this auction. Is this a new piece? It looks like a 1x2x2 classic window but that wouldn't fit. It almost looks like some sort of 1x2x2-1x1x2 hybrid or something. Has anyone ever seen (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sets

(...) But isn't that the traditional train stuff on the front? (The bumper things. NOt sure what they're called..) and the magnet? I think it's probably compatible with 9V at least, if nothing else... Matt (23 years ago, 21-Jun-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sets

Oh crud, I didn't notice the axle on the train wheels, they're probally not train wheels at all, just spoked car wheels (like on the Adventure's cars) jt (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jun-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)
