Re: A wine rack I made today

(...) There are TECHNIC pins, but the short little stud pin is the only one with a non-split end. Aside from that, there are the flex-system tubes and lightsaber blades, which are small enough to go through a hollow stud. The two combined might work (...)   Re: A wine rack I made today

Hmm, another thought for the latice... Are there any tubes the diameter of a stud? If so, you could use a latice fence with tubes stucking through. I think that might get the idea across pretty well. Frank (21 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

Re: A wine rack I made today

(...) Thanks much Lar, glad you liked it! I actually tried several different types of lattice (Thanks BTW, couldn't think of that word yesterday!), but this is what worked best. I tried using 1xX plates in the same direction of the bricks (just no (...) (21 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: A wine rack I made today

(...) Hey that is a REALLY neat idea. Too bad my secret 3CS building is already packed for its trip to Portland or I'd be stealing that idea as we speak. But if I stole it, I'd probably do it differently. Instead of using bricks stud on, I think I'd (...) (21 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.town, FTX)

A wine rack I made today

As I continue to plan how I will build my next castle, as my parts are currently used in other things, I began to think of the Castle's Keep. Now, every castle has got to have a place to eat, and of course my next castle being a royal castle, my (...) (21 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.town, FTX) !

Re: BrickTopia - Capitalist Pig Reeducation Center

(...) Thanks, "Reverend," I totally missed your other post. Sorry about that. I don't spend much time on LUGNET. I usually browse through for interesting MOC's (mainly in the spotlite) every few days, but I rarely pour over the newsgroups heavily (...) (21 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: BrickTopia - Capitalist Pig Reeducation Center

(...) Thanks - I think that this building takes the cake for using the most number of architectural styles in a single building (modern?, Chinese?, Gothic, Baroque). Although I had a general concept in mind for the overall design, I kept evolving (...) (21 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: BrickTopia - Capitalist Pig Reeducation Center

(...) Thanks - I've been building up a lot of HP and adventurers pieces and had nothing to use them on. Finally, I got inspired by the 7419 Chinese Castle to stretch it (to the extreme) vertically, and then add some "modern" elements. (21 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.town)

Sean Kenney? Where are you? IMPORTANT

Hi all, Does anyone know how to reach Sean Kenney? Sean are you reading this? NEW YORK MAGAZINE has been trying to contact you recently. They are very interested in using images of your Brick Apple town out of LEGO bricks. They are so interested, in (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-04, to lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

Review and pictures from COLTC's GATS show last weekend

Hello LUGNET members, Last weekend COLTC put on our largest single display (25'x25') at our local GATS in Columbus Ohio. And it turned out great! We received our first official 1st place win during the GATS in Columbus. Hopefully a start of (...)   Re: BrickTopia - Capitalist Pig Reeducation Center

Bravo, Brad. Another impressive addition to the megalopolis. And a fun write-up as well. I'm still wondering, though, why nobody ever responded to (URL) this post>. Maybe you're just not at liberty to talk about it though. @8^) Regards, -Brendan (21 years ago, 10-Feb-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: BrickTopia - Capitalist Pig Reeducation Center

(...) Wow. The blend of architectural styles is nicely disconcerting. This thing looms. It almost reminds me of the bathhouse from Spirited Away. I'm so off to build pagodas now. -Kevin (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 3 Skyscrapers

(...) Thanks. One Nationwide plaza is "only" 148 meters tall, so it is the 6th tallest currently in Columbus. The tallest is the Rhodes Office tower, at 191 meters. This would be around 35 bricks taller than the Huntington is. The plus sude of this (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.town, lugnet.loc.us.oh, FTX)

  Re: 3 Skyscrapers

(...) Hi, I think these look great! I grew up in Columbus, and instantly recognized the LeVeque Tower and Huntington building at least. Thanks especially for the interior shots showing how these were constructed (that's a lot of sand red and (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.town, lugnet.loc.us.oh, FTX)

  3 Skyscrapers

At last weekends GATS show, I showed my 3 skyscapers for the first time. Besides John Bucy's LeVeque tower that we have showed before, we complemented the Columbus OH skyline with: Huntington Center: (URL) Vern Riffe Building: (URL) Borden Building: (...) I'm head over heels crazy about this one, and I'm not even a Marxist. Gives me a lot of inspiration for the temple I'm working on with some of the same design themes. -Brian P. Gefrich (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.town)
