Despite this, I still find this set awesome. One of the best town sets ever.
Period. I'm really happy, that I voted for this. It's a true legend...

Kecia :-)
I received my 4 sets yesterday (4, as I got them for the original (wrong)
price of 49 DKr (appx. $6)); it feels good to build with many bricks again,
but I don't really like the final model that much.

Yikes! Gotta remember to order next time I see a set with wrong pricing...

Even at full price, I'm thinking of ordering a second and/or third one. This
set has so many pieces that I can use to rebuild my Miniland. especially the
'good' roadplates!

One question: why are both cars build with a normal 1x1 on the left side,
but a stud-on-side 1x1 on the right side???

Arne, Copenhagen

I am not sure, but I guess it resembles where to refuel the car with gasoline.

That must be it! Back in 1980, there was a small pumping station set (6610)
with a nozzle that actually fits the hole in the site.
Kecia

The set you are refering to is 6375 GAS STATION (Exxon):
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6375_2
The pump hoses were little bits of waxed string that fit the diameter of the
headlight/gas cap hole on the sides of LEGOLAND cars.
Back when I was a wee Maniac I received this and Main Street which I still
have (the original rocked!) but the stickers are somewhat worse for wear.
Man, I do hate stickers!
Best y'all,
