New MOC's: Building & NYPD/FDNY vehicles —Jonathan Lopes
Hello, I have put some pictures of some new MOC's I made on brickshelf. One is a tan & green building, inspired by a building I see everyday on 14th street in NYC. Also, there are some pictures of an NYPD ESU vehicle & Bomb Squad vehicle as well as (...) (23 years ago, 16-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

Awright! That brownstone looks great with the splashy color and two-tone brick texture! Sharp vehicles! I like that demarcation between cab and body effect. -Erik (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

(...) Hi Jonathan, Excellent building! I like the window trim (I might 'steal' you design :). What makes up the round parts in the cornice? -chris (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

(...) Hi Chris, Thanks for the comments! Feel free to steal the window (or any) of my designs. The round parts on the cornice are headlight bricks (set back a stud on the bottom--2 studs on top) with a 1x1 green round brick attached sideways. thanks (...)      (...) It's always suprising when such a construciton of simple and common pieces fools the eye. Keep building! -chris (23 years ago, 18-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC's: Building & NYPD/FDNY vehicles —Jonathan Lopes
(...) 100% agreed. Quite often I find that when I *try* to be clever & sophisticated with my building techniques, the results are pretty beat. When I just 'let it flow' with simple parts, I am usually much more happy with the end result. (...) (23 years ago, 18-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

(...) The green trim, to me, seems to make the tan look like a lighter shade of green. Altogether, the building looks very nice. I like your design for trim along the top. -Jason (URL) (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

Johnathan: Very nice stuff. A funny story: I saw your pictures on Brickshelf before I read this post, and I said "Hey, 14th street... I work on 13th street. I wonder if that building is near my office?" I'd forgotten about it until lunchtime when I (...) (23 years ago, 18-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

(...) That is funny. Thanks for the compliments. I am going to attempt the rounded building on 14th & sixth in the near future. (it has an Urban Outfitters on the ground floor). thanks for looking & posting. Jonathan (...) (23 years ago, 18-Oct-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)
