Re: Major update to my vehicle folder.

(...) That is a shame. I've been trying to build your yellow prime mover, and keep having problems with the under carrage. Keep up the great work. Aaron (19 years ago, 1-Nov-05, to lugnet.town)

Re: Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane

I Disagree. Many models *require* a high resolution pic to properly view all of the details. If hi-res and low-res are available that's fine, but I for one am tired of seeing great models and layouts ruined by low-res junk pics. "Ross Crawford" (...)   Blacked-out truck

Hello all, Here is my version of the truck from set 7032. (URL) Here is the brickshelf gallery... (URL) I've always wanted to put cow horns on a truck and the new Viking sets have made it possible! After all, every town needs a redneck! Scott Member (...) (19 years ago, 29-Oct-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane

(...) Hi Ross, sorry about the picture size, I did not even think about this problem. I will look at resizing them. Sorry everyone. My father in law is a machinist, so he fixed the Bushing issue. He also made a metal shaft that fit the size of the (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

Re: Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane

(...) Hi Jacub, that's a really nice crane! I especially like the support vehicles you built for it, really makes it complete. Is the jib held on with rubber bands? Nice simple idea! Did you drill out the centre of the 1/2 bushes so they rotate (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

  Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane

Here is a mini fig scale Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane. There was only one of these ever built. This Lego crane uses 2 micro motors, one running the main hook, and the second running the hold back line for the jib. The counter weight is made up of (...)   Re: 2006 New Town Sets Sneak Peek

(...) Things I noticed ... Ambulance This might be the best Lego ambulance ever. I want one! Lots of detail. And we get 1x3x4 doors in white! Hospital At first I was a little disappointed, but it's probably a good starter set for kids. Why the (...) (19 years ago, 8-Oct-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 2006 sets

(...) I agree. When I saw these new planes I felt thoroughly disappointed and uninspired. My hunch is that they're looking to put a 5+ age rating on the box. And if that's the case, I can't blame them for thinking they have to juniorize something. (...) (19 years ago, 7-Oct-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: 2006 sets

(...) Agreed. But is there a point where the pieces are so large and so specialized that it loses the creativity? That plane nose reminds me more of Playmobil than an open-ended building toy. (URL) -Steven (19 years ago, 7-Oct-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: 2006 sets

(...) Wouldn't this be where the "creativity" comes in? If I'ma kid, and I see how I can build a 4-wide plane, wouldn't I recognize that a wider plane would be better, so I'll look at all my parts and figure out how to make a wider plane? (plates & (...)   Re: 2006 sets

(...) They seem to be moving toward a more realistic scale for their vehicles. (A good move in my opinion.) The problem is that in doing so, Lego added a lot of "juniorization" in the process. Lego, why do we have to choose between having to choose (...) (19 years ago, 7-Oct-05, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.town, FTX)

2006 New Town Sets Sneak Peek

Hey everyone. While perusing Brickshelf, I came across this gallery: (URL) The buildings are pretty ho-hum, but the vehicles look great. I really like that Lego concentrated on the little details, like an IV of sorts on the ambulance stretcher. The (...) (19 years ago, 6-Oct-05, to lugnet.town)

Re: Major update to my vehicle folder.

Indeed! I will consider it an immense blunder on the part of the TLG hiring department if Pierre is not being interviewed (merely as a formality!) by the end of the coming week. Surely these are some of the best Town vehicles I've ever seen. A (...) (19 years ago, 24-Sep-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.dear-lego)
