How to make a differential when you've got no one? —Luis Hernández
I'm still working in the sports car (which I think will be about 8-10 studs longer and 4 wider than 8408... using the same wheels). The frame is almost ready, and it will include 2-speed gearbox (if I can, I'll build a 3-speed one and pop-up (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic)

R: How to make a differential when you've got no one? —Stefano Prosseda
hey! nice one! I didn't notice that there was a "1wd" car! (an "inverted" 1wd car, because the wheel drives the piston(s)) very funny, in my opinion! what you are searching for is here, anyway: (URL) Hernández <lmhariano@latinmail.com> wrote in (...)      Well... I checked Mike Fusion's thin differential ( (URL) ). It works fine... but it's simply too big!!!! So I had to think about a smaller diff that would work the same way... and that's what I got... using pulleys instead of 40-tooth gears and (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic)

hi! 1. differencial gear is needed to give an ability to rotate right and left wheel independantly when car's moving ahead there is no difference in speed of rotation left and right wheel but whe car's running on a curve every wheel is going to run (...)      (...) I suppose you meant to write 8448 and not 8408? (...) When the vehicle is turning the rear wheels could be said to describe circles, the inner wheel is in a smaller circle then the outer wheel. Thus, the outer wheel has to travel a greater (...)         Re: How to make a differential when you've got no one? —Øyvind Steinnes
First of all 1wd car would be only one wheel running. But in the 8840 instructions both rear wheels are driving the engine and it is by definition a 2wheel drive car, but with a stiff rear axel. A true 1wd car would have only one wheel conected to (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic)
