I just got the three droids in the mail on Thursday (Let's hear it for Shop at Home!) and all I can say is, "Wow!" Lego did a spectacular job on these three sets. The Pit Droid, though simple, is just neat. The Battle Droid can best be described as (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Yes, but 8448 is a 99 set. For 2000 there are now five holed and a fifteen holed beams with no studs (and rounded ends), which appear to be a replacements for the 5 and 15 holed studded technic beams. I'll bet that in the next couple years we'll see (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Look at the new 2000 F1-car! I think it's impossible to build a car-chassis without studded beams. It has to be strong enough so it will not bend. (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

I've built an entire car chassis out of cross axles and connectors, so I'm absolutely certain that I can build one out of non-studded beams. Many of the chassis' used in traditional Technic sets get their strength through connecting beams together (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)
