(...) TJ: I suspect that Brad Justus/Lego defines Technic differently than you or I do. I think that my definition is clear. It comes from playing/collecting/ building with these sets and elements for about 15 years. Lego defines the Theme as Star (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

In my mind it is easy to see where lego went wrong on terms of technic. A change in the technic line may have been needed to evolve a little after 1997 but they went the wrong direction. Instead of modles becoming more complex, larger, better (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) While it might have been fun for US (as AFOL's), for the target market (8-16 y/o) it would have made things worse. Kids can't spend $200-300 per set. Also most shops can't / won't stock such expensive sets. Perhaps in the USA it would have (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) I don't think Brad Justus and/or LEGO Direct alone can resurrect Technic as we have known it. But I must agree that some of us are losing faith. LEGO (meaning the parent company) needs to take a look at the success of their own Mindstorms (...) (22 years ago, 5-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.dear-lego)
