Thanks Luke, you really helped the decision-making process on my side. You
sound like you know what's going on so I'll keep an eye out for the
8448....but only if it's less than $75 =D
Before you mentioned it I had already researched the 8480 shuttle. Seems
like a must-have for a technic nut like me. Unfortunately I can't seem to
find a reasonable price for it anywhere! (I've been looking on ebay and
bricklink for months as well as discontinued lego sites). I've got a MISB
Off-roader which I'd be willing to trade for a shuttle but you can get one
cheap now at shop@home so I'll hang on to it.
By the way, do you know anything about that 8458 silver champion? I've heard
it's just some looks. I was only granted a glance at one in the Downtown
Disney lego center -- looked pretty big. $170 seems a bit pricey for a 1400
piece count model, 200 of which are friction pins.
Thanks!!
Jake

| Jake, No prob. Glad I coule help. You're probably not going to find the 8448 for $75 though...but here's to hoping that you do. I don't have the silver champion but I've read quite a bit about it and checked the inventory and all that. Your view of (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

| Jake, Well...I do own the 8448 and 8466 and I've put an RCX and motors on the 8448 so here's my take on it: I came out of the dark ages through the 8448 (much as you have with the 8466) So there's a special place for it in my heart :) I bought the (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)
