Hey guys, I've got 8880 and 8466...both at a bargain. IMHO, 8466 is the better of the two but I still appreciate the engineering that went into the 8880. 8466 seems to have most of the features of the 8448, but I can't seem to motorize that 4x4 and (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

Jake, Well...I do own the 8448 and 8466 and I've put an RCX and motors on the 8448 so here's my take on it: I came out of the dark ages through the 8448 (much as you have with the 8466) So there's a special place for it in my heart :) I bought the (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

Thanks Luke, you really helped the decision-making process on my side. You sound like you know what's going on so I'll keep an eye out for the 8448....but only if it's less than $75 =D Before you mentioned it I had already researched the 8480 (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

Jake, No prob. Glad I coule help. You're probably not going to find the 8448 for $75 though...but here's to hoping that you do. I don't have the silver champion but I've read quite a bit about it and checked the inventory and all that. Your view of (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

Everyone seems to enjoy the shuttle and it looks like a well-rounded set with nice electric and fiber optics. What's the cheapest I could probably ever find an 8480 MISB...? (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

There was an MISB of the Shuttle (8480) for 50 quid on eBay UK "Buy it now" the other month, so some people do sell without knowing the value of things. I missed it Just keep watching! William -----Original Message----- From: news-gateway@lugnet.com (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Hi Jake, I have almost the complete collection of Technic/Expert Builder large car models. I would have to say that the 8448 is excellent as a model to get and build. I think it's better then the Silver Champion by far for much less. If you (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

If you're going to use it, why bother with MISB? You'd only pay collector's value.... I do own the Space shuttle. It's one of the first I got after the Dark Ages and it's one of the best Technic sets ever. It comes with two motors, fiber-optics, all (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)
