A way to build a universal joint? —Greg Majewski
Since I have no universal joints at my disposal, and there are currently no reasonably priced sets that I know of that use them, I would like to know if anybody has come up with a way to build one. I have never seen one first hand, but I do know (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

While this isnt a solution for building ujoints, can you shop at pitscodacta? if so , in the spare parts they list 25 ujoints for 10 bucks... (URL) Hopefully this link will work but if it doesn't this is the link to the Pitsco dacta page and look in (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Greg, Building a u-joint probably can be done, although I've never really tried. The problem will be that whatever assembly is built will be large and bulky (as compared to the original Lego-made u-joint). The home-built one will be hard to (...) Take a look at 3 ideas: (URL) I spectulated before, the home-made joints are bulky and it will be hard to incorporate them into a nice, neat, compact (...)       (...) Could you connect a 4-way znap connector between 2 axles somehow? It just looks so simular to the center piece... NICK (23 years ago, 25-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: A way to build a universal joint? —Thomas Avery
(...) Well, I dunno. I'm not very familiar with znap parts. If the piece you're talking about will allow you to connect axles or pins perpendicular to each other and in the same plane, then the znap piece should work. I'm sure you could just replace (...)
