I also found that almost all pieces I bought in the last 3 years have less grip
than my 10 years old pieces before dark age. Everything from 1x1 plate to
gears. The 16t gear in particular shown significent difference. With a new
16t I can plug and remove an axle easily, while the two old ones from my 8845
would requires 10x more force to remove an axle.
