That is an excellent design for a joystick. I had been trying to figure out how to do one myself. Out of curiosity, did you get this from some real machine, or did you invent it from scratch?   Power Steering the Silver Truck
 
I posted some pictures of the Silver Truck with power steering and driven with the RCX. I will add some more pictures and an avi movie Sunday. I used two micro motors for the steering coupled with connector plates. Works fairly well as long as the (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general)

Mine has a transverse mounted 12 cyl engine, and a two speed worm gear tranny. The rear axle has a differential, but I have one problem. Using a worm gear in hte tranny means that the engine can drive the wheel, but during gear changes, the axle (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

I figured out 4WD/4WS two years ago :+) It also has a working differential so that when one wheel gets off the ground, the other will still get traction. Check it out: (URL) this model does not do, but could easily have, is a differential between (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) They were about as fast as the standard 9V motor, but less powerful. To move larger models you needed the 872 gearbox set. It wasn't the voltage that gave it so little power... the 12v motor (as in 880) is just as strong (or weak) Also there (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  4.5-volt Technic motor
 
Just wanted some information on the old 4.5V motor that was used in Technic models until about 1989 or 1990. It appears that the 8050, 8054, 8055 and 8700 sets coame with this type of motor. What is the general rotational speed of it? (is it really (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)
