Duq, I once had a 8t gear in rack & pinion lifter break on me - it was only a single width rach, though. It was in a fair-ground ride I built (many years ago). Hi all, I'm running into trouble with my mobile crane project. The boom is pretty heavy. I want to raise it with a rack/pinion, but I wonder how much force they can take? I have a new (I think) method for using the turntables as jumbo gears. Pop the turntable into two parts. Push the inner teeth down through the hole and pull up on the outer teeth with your fingers. Hey Everyone, It looks like the 8479 Barcode Multiset ((URL) has finally gone the way of the dodo. S@H now shows it as "No Longer Available". I'm glad I got mine when I did, as it's a pretty cool set, even though Mindstorms kinda over shadows it's (...) (25 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)
