Hi all, I'm running into trouble with my mobile crane project. The boom is pretty heavy. I want to raise it with a rack/pinion, but I wonder how much force they can take? I have a new (I think) method for using the turntables as jumbo gears. Pop the turntable into two parts. Push the inner teeth down through the hole and pull up on the outer teeth with your fingers. Hey Everyone, It looks like the 8479 Barcode Multiset ((URL) has finally gone the way of the dodo. S@H now shows it as "No Longer Available". I'm glad I got mine when I did, as it's a pretty cool set, even though Mindstorms kinda over shadows it's (...) (25 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

The S@H catalog I got in the mail last week didn't have it. The one before that did. So they must have just recently decided to pull it from the printed materials, and the Boss packages were made up before that. Funny thing about the Indy Storm, one (...) Ok, after tinkering with this for months, I finally have a complete Lego clock that strikes the hours! It is completely mechanical, and non-electric. It features: 375:1 gear ratio 8 hours running time 3 lbs clock weights and 2 lbs striking weights. (...) (25 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic) !

I was just over to my local K-mart and they had put out 5 or 6 each of the 10 small Throwbots, so I got one went to the checkout and instead of 6 dollars it scanned for 50 cents!!, yep that's $.50, HALF a buck!!.
