  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Thanks for writing Fredrik - you are correct, the wheel hubs and tyres are from the Millenium Slizer. The first copy was a present, and because of the wheels I bought another two for a great price in a sale. I wish I'd bought more :-) Jennifer (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Thanks :-) I must confess that the loader is also my personal favourite, although I am not really sure why at this moment. The crane also has "remote control" for all its functions except telescoping the boom, which had to be fixed onto the (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) I think that is where I get a lot of my inspiration from, mainly the models of around 1980 or so, although I definitely prefer the wider selection of parts available nowadays. A lot of the "if only I had a part which..." wishes I used to think (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Of course printing these out is fine, I'm honoured that you think them worthwhile. Thanks for your comments, Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Yup, that's where I saw the idea being used first. Alas I only saw this on the scanned instructions on Brickshelf, I don't actually have the pleasure of owning an 8868. Fortunately I was able to get two tubes of exactly the right length for (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Done. (...) No, I have a degree in computer science, although I've been working with control systems and robotics since graduating, which has helped my formal understanding of mechanical engineering a great deal. My informal knowledge of (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

Thanks for the input Ralph - I've come across your web pages before and enjoyed them, especially the excavator model. (...) I know what you mean, although there are some notable exceptions such as the 8448 Supercar which are simply amazing. I think (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

(...) I use it on my excavator model at: (URL) Although next to Jennifer's models and website, I might be tempted to break out my 4 year old's Toolo kits.... Cheers, Ralph Hempel - P.Eng ---...--- Check out pbFORTH for LEGO Mindstorms at: (URL) (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Thanks - I did things this way simply because I too love reading such material, not just about Lego but on many technical subjects. Looking forward to checking out your Robot Diaries ASAP. Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

Not a lot more to add to the comments that are here already, all of which I agree with! It makes me want to go out and get a load of motors (I only have a couple) and start building some models with 'lives' of their own :-) Hope the thesis is coming (...)   Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) I have only one problem here, which one should I vote for as model of the year? Probably the loader, since I'm a huge fan of the wimsy little Bobcat:) You need a metal hook for the crane? Didn't you have a 8462 stashed away for reward? You (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Thanks for the feedback Michael - I can't remember ever using sticky back plastic (or is that double sided sticky tape?) in my Technic creations, although I've no doubt been tempted to do so at some point in the past :-) The problem you (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

Hi Josh, (...) Thanks for your comments. I don't currently have a full LDRAW model of the loader available, but this may change in the future. Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

Jennifer, They are amazing. Jut reminds me the good old days of technic, when most of the models were both functioning and beautifully looking. By the way, honey, I've never seen a woman before making crane mechanics her hobby. I just amazed..:-) (...) (25 years ago, 2-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

I just have to reiterate what people have been saying: This is really great stuff! The models look realistic and also appear to function realistically. I find it hard to come up with any more comments just now: The words don't come easily after (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Everything 100% excellent: models, photos, website... I think you have mastered a most difficult job: putting technic and model team design together. Your site should be part of Todd´s Seven Wonders of Lego project. I love your work and hope (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)
