Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) Well, I think you can put two airtanks in the system right after the 2x4 brick that has the valves in the old system. One for vacuum and one for preassure. (...) airtight seal, thanks! (...) I bought the 8462 Tow Truck yesterday and I'm (...) (25 years ago, 10-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Suspension

Does anyone have designs for a suspension setup using the dark gray shock absorbers? I would like it to have a lot of travel, and have the axle drive the wheel. (I'm building a sort of space rover. So far I've built one wheel (about 13 studs in (...) (25 years ago, 10-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

  Slizers:Transformers

Im posting her to inform the board of my new web site, Slizers;Transformers. it is a fan site devoted to hte creation not only of custom Lego models, based on the throwbot line, but to also produce a Net-Series Based on these designs! Id appreciate (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

(...) Well, having only recently bought & built the truck the pneumatics are quite well designed. The finished model is let down a little by the crane arm which is quite crude compared to other parts of the truck design. Having said that the set (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

You could take it a step farther and have it fold a paper airplane. then have it throw it (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

In terms of mechanics, I don't like the set too much. It has only got four (or so) gear cogs included. And the crane is kinda floppy. On the other side, the mechanism for the rear lift is very well designed. I suppose it's a nice set for those who (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Builder's Block (no pun intended....)

(...) May be you want to try building a machine that fold a regular piece of paper in three and then insert it in an envelope. If you ever build something like this I definitely would like to see it. (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Just Started 8479 Code Pilot Truck....

(...) like. (...) Well, I agree and disagree. I don't think Advanced Builder should necessarily indicate someone who can read instructions well. Even in the 8448, there were times when the added parts were VERY difficult to find, either because they (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Builder's Block (no pun intended....)

Can someone please give me an insanely complecated project to undertake? I seem to be out of ideas at the moment. Thanks. Also, does anyone know when the Pneumatics Pack and the Power Puller will be available in the US? (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8880 SuperCar

(...) I suspect that's the "full-scale" 8880 that was built a couple years ago. I've got a photo, but it'd be nice to see it "in person". If they have more, perhaps they set more aside originally, due to the promotional aspect of the full-size (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  8880 SuperCar

Hi, I was in LegoLand (Billund) this year (as always), and apparently they have either found a massive stock of 8880's or started reproducing them. At least it was selling at the park for less than $100,- and in the park they had built a LARGE model (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Just Started 8479 Code Pilot Truck....

(...) I agree with you, but there's a changing in the instructions what I don't like. The instructions become longer and longer, and every step thrink to only a few bricks. This is maybe good for the smaller sets, but for the expert-sets it's (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) Yes you can say that. In fact the old style uses press/suck system and the new style only uses press That means that the suck action uses a sort of vacuum. This is always less powerful then pressure. And you can’t use an airtank. The new style (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) It's 8868 I reccon, the same set that gave me the idea to this whole project :) I did build a compressor yesterday with a 'medium' sized old-style cylinder. I used two old style 9v motors and I didn't like the weak performance of the (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Just Started 8479 Code Pilot Truck....

Hey Everyone, I just started on the main model (the truck) for the Code Pilot set (8479) and MAN do I appreciate the work Lego has put into the newer kits by segregating pieces in to sequentially numbered containers. The Super Street Sensation (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Hidden Technic Kits for 2000

I'm not so sure about that. I think 8516 is Roboriders Wave 2, much like 8520 to 8523 is Throwbots Wave 2. 1. The technic catalog I got with my pit droid last Dec only shows the first six riders. 2. www.lego.com/roboriders/ only shows the first six. (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) You just build the compressor, and for gods sake - don't use the air tanks! They're great when used with the handpump, but can ruin almost any compressor design. Take a look at the compressor in that awesom "claw truck" (can't remember the set (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)
