| | | | (...) This is a very interesting project. I'd like to see the slew ring for a crane in this scale, assuming that it's a working model and not just a static piece. Looking at the design of the crawler so far and knowing a bit about large Lego cranes (...) (21 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

| | | | (...) OK, I wanna ask some advice on this one from the big crane builders (yeah that's you!!) I was aiming to be able to lift the a-frame mechanically, but so far have found no solution. He used 12V motors (the round ones). It didn't work very well. His crane is on scale (...) (21 years ago, 2-May-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

| | | | (...) Hmmmm. I just looked closely at that pic, and can see the a-frame line is reversed once (goes across to opposite side of pulley). I've noticed some cranes do this, and some don't - some do it more than once - none of the DEMAG ones I've seen (...) (21 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)
