| (...) This posting got me to thinking about Technic tires, so last night I reached into the tire drawer and pulled out as many different kinds as I could find. After puzzling around with them and with a ruler for a while, I came to the following (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)

| (...) Tyres/hubs from sets 5571 and 5563. Not used yet in any technic set, but it's quite a "technic" style tyre/hub couple I think, at least more than 13x24 model team ones, having pin holes rather than axle holes. (these model team tyres looks (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)

| Those are the same as the ones used in the 8479, but in gray instead of 5571. Anyway, he did list those, if you look again. What he did miss was the fact that the 8868 hub was also re-used as the hub for the _early_ version of the wheels that we see (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)

| (...) I don't quite follow you. Are you saying that 8479 and 5571 has the same wheels? But they do not! The 5571 wheels are larger than the ones from 8479. If that was not what you meant, then please excuse me! :-) Fredrik (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)

| (...) Sorry, but I was right..:-) Those tyres and hubs from 8479 and 5571/5563 are not same. 5571/5563 ones are larger in diameter. I was not aware about the two different types of 20*30 balloon tyre, by the way. I was thinking that they used the (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)

| (...) Fascinating. So there are 3 distinct tires with "20 x 30" written on the sidewall. You are correct. I think the "foamy" type tires came with the 8280 fire truck, too. (...) Indeed, our European friends are correct. I thought these were the (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)

| Wow, then I do apologize to everyone. I could've sworn those wheels were the same. I do not own any model team, but just looking at them in the store, they looked the same. So, how big are those model team wheels/tires? Do they have the same (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)

| (...) I just checked the set 8279 that you mentioned from Michael's site and seen that there is even more. Checkout those big tractor tyres/hubs, the slick ones in Silver Champion and the weird ones used in duel bikes. Selçuk (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)

| A few years ago, on RTL, Joshua D. posted a list of all "non-technic" wheels. There was a fairly long thread and I believe the list was complete. I think I saved that and will try to find it. Unfortunately, I'll be on the road for the next 5 days, (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general)

| Good point -- I had not mentioned those others because they are not actually available yet, whereas the wheels in the 8279 are currently available in the 8446 from 1999. And then of course there's ZNAP wheels too... "Selçuk Göre" (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)
