I'm building an orrery and came up with this gear train for the earth and moon. The ratio is 1:27.7777 which is as close as I could come to the actual orbit of the moon, which is 27.32268 days. That's about 1.6% difference, or about 11 hours over (...) (24 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

I never thought of it..but a friction version of the dark grey pin is an awsome idea. I find when building with straight liftarms, its very hard to create solid connections. The liftarms dont contain studs or axle holes in which to make them (...) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) We have a bulk vendor in our local group as well. We call him "Uncle Dan". He buys massive amounts of LEGO from all over, but he doesn't play with 'em. He sells speciality parts like Technic separately but regular LEGO gets dumped out on the (...) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)
