The 24-tooth gears on the Toa have this neat feature: one side has 4 or 8 little bumps that stick out slightly. If you put the gear on the back of the Toa with the bumps facing the body, they will cause it to stick a bit (like a click hinge), and (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

In fact, in order to get the arms with large weapons to stay in any position other than hanging straight down, I would have to do some tweaking of some of the parts involved with the gear (...) (...) Cute. I made my sheep's head go up and down with a gear. I can't decide yet whether to use plain axles on towballs or short throwbot arms (?) for the legs. The sheep's head is an upside down Nuju head (I think). Tentatively named "Biewenicle". (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

So, why don't we come up with some other Bionimals: Bionephant, Bioniraffe, Bion, Bioniger, Bionebra, Bionocerus, Bionigator, etc... Bonus points for including some geared mechanism in the little critter. :-) John Hansen (24 years ago, 19-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

(...) Actually, tanks can turn very well. One tread moves one way, the other moves the other way. Tanks style steering is very useful; I use it in nearly all of my robots. I don't doubt that the Manas can turn. (24 years ago, 19-Jul-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)
