Correct me if I'm mistaken, but it seems like what offends you about Bionicle is mostly with the collectible aspect. However, that aspect of Bionicle is limited to two products AFAIK -- the mask packs and the card game. Speaking as an AFOL who does (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

If he is buying a building toy then his allowance money will be spent on the sets, when they are on sale. If the idea is too buy these masks and subsequently cards then forget it. Michael is right, the missing gear from the pump can appear in four different locations underwater. It's random every time you play. OH! i never knew that the yelow ones had more tension. although, the guns design is just enough to withhold the gray shocks, if I put more tension, the gun would not hold. I had to spend an extra half an hour re-configuring the gray handgun to (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

WOW!! That is so cool! I think the rifle looks better without the extended barrel. Those look great! Have you considered using the new yellow technic shock absorber? These have far more tension than the old gray kinds and would probably give your guns more power.
