(...) Personally, I think the 8880 and the Technic Space Shuttle are the best two LEGO sets of all time. I built my 8880 over 3 years ago - it's on display in the house to educate all non-Lego visitors and I still can't bear to break it up. Onto the (...) You might want to help Kevin at Brickshelf. The scans at (URL) and (URL) need some work. Wonder if Kevin needs more scans? (24 years ago, 17-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic)

I just wanted some opinion on this; do you all like the old Technic logo/box color scheme or the new one better. I personally prefer the old one; I like darker colors and the old logo somehow seems to look more original and inspired (sorry if I'm (...) (24 years ago, 17-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic)

Thanks for the replies. I built the forklift model and apart from a few design glitches (which can be corrected easily), the function switch system has to be one of the most innovative ones I've seen! There is essentially a platform on which the (...) (24 years ago, 17-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Yeah, some of the older sets (8460, 8480, 8862, 8868, 8880, etc) are very nice in terms of functionality IMHO. It seems that today's models are actually less functionally advanced than some older ones (at least from 1989-1998), which would (...) (24 years ago, 17-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) No, the 8862 was available in the US as a S@H item, I dont beleive it was available as a retail item.
