  Re: Great Ball Contraption modules

I will admit to having spent a huge amount of time on the kugelbahn site. The kids love some of it, but find it a bit abstract, compared with the raw videos which were on Steve's site before the bandwidth was pulled. They did have a few ideas, and I (...) Philo, How about showing a vid of the two modules the other way - with the hailfire feeding the sweeper. That would mean you get see a vid of the sweeper doings it thing more often. I love these ball contraptions - I am currently teaching my group (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: LDrawed Mercedes-Benz Actros 4150K in 1:13 scale

(...) Robert, I have downloaded the zip file, and loaded all models AOK in ML Cad. I have begun (about 10hrs ago) a publication with LPub just to see if it does work (I have 2GB RAM + 4GB Swap). Hopefully it does, currently the POV is working on the (...) (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Radial Engine (and V8 crankshaft)

(...) I don't think it should be a major problem either, because the angle of the cylinder blocks on those mounts is wrong for a V8 anyway ;) (...) That could be a problem in shorter vehicles, but not insurmountable, I think. (...) Looks great - (...) (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Radial Engine (and V8 crankshaft)

Hey all, (second attempt to post due to virus eating bandwidth) Here is an idea i've been playing with for a while during my first super car developement. That's a nice improvement - if you are looking for beta testers, just send me a copy ;) (I actually do have 1 GB RAM, but the problem is that everything else has to be swapped back from disk when LDView quits, which (...) (...) Eegaad! That is fantastic! Amazing! I've not looked at the video yet, but the sweeper is beautiful, and the hailfire module is a great idea. (20 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: LDrawed Mercedes-Benz Actros 4150K in 1:13 scale

Great model. (...) It's worth mentioning that when I loaded it using the LDView 3 beta, it only used 83 megs. (Although, to be fair, there were some parts missing even after I downloaded and installed the unofficial parts zip.) Also, I'm pretty sure (...) (20 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Radial Engine (and V8 crankshaft)

(...) It's hard to see in those pics, but the crankshaft DOES go in 4 directions to get the correct firing order, big ends 1&4 are 180 degrees apart, and 2&3 are also 180 degrees from each other and 90 degrees from 1&4 (see below). The extra stud (...) (20 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Radial Engine (and V8 crankshaft)

(...) Good design Ross! I was actually talking about the crankshaft; not the firing order. To clarify more, I meant that if someone can make a crankshaft that goes 4 directions and also fits into TLC's modern cylinder-piston design (while also not (...)
