Re: pneumatic cylinder: why not hydraulic ??

(...) I can think of a few concerns that would need to be answered before using a pneumatic cylinder as a hydrolic cylinder: 1. will the seals work properly I'd be concerned that the lubricant would get washed away by water, so the only way to (...) (20 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.technic)

pneumatic cylinder: why not hydraulic ??

Hi everybody, I' ve read a long time ago something like this: LEGO pneumatic cylinder cannot be use as hydraulic cylinder. Is anybody can explain me why ?? May be we can' t use water with cylinder (may be cause of corrosion) but what about silicone (...) (20 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Crystal Reef

(URL) Some of you guys have come up with ways to make nano-scale Moonbase modules, but I figured why stop there? Why not make them so they'll fit in with a standard Moonbase layout? After all, there's an added potential for scale-based humor. When I (...)   Left Over Crab

I found myself with quite a few leftovers after making a near-canonical combiner of three Toa Metru sets. Near-canonical because I substituted Whenua for Onewa. This turned out lucky because I found a use for the claws: (URL) Crab-like thing.> (20 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, FTX)

Re: New MOC: Double Track Train Bridge

(...) I agree, but unfortunately my computer does not! My CAD version of the Sydney Harbour Bridge now exceeds the ability of my somewhat antiquated computer to render it (even in MLCad). So until I upgrade, it remains about 3/4 complete in a bunch (...) (20 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains)

Re: New MOC: Double Track Train Bridge

(...) I second that! TJ, CAD'ing your creations is very important. Especially, before you recycle for the parts. If you have not used it or would like to find out more information, let me know. I can also demo a bit for you at the April Dinner. (...) (20 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains)

Re: Advice from crane builders (was: Blimey)

(...) I agree with Steve. HOG it! Besides, your MOC will have so many mechnical parts, eliminating the A-frame cylinders will make it more simple and your life easier, IMO. -TJ (20 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Advice from crane builders (was: Blimey)

(...) Well on my crane I went straight for the HOG approach, I didn't actually find out how the A frame was raised on the prototype until after completion. I did consider retrofitting a solution but the prototype utilised a big fat multi telescopic (...) (20 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)
