  Re: Crazy building moment?

(...) how about using the Williams F1 "shells"? they work(on hovercrafts, anyway.) And as for a motor, how about the 8472's built in 4.5v motor+battery box? It gives two outputs and a lot of torque (never mind the speed:) Then you could have wing (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Crazy building moment?

Hi pixel, Not 100% Lego, but there is a Lego glider pilot out there (URL) hope it helps at least a bit! (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Demag cc12600 Crawler Crane

(...) For scaling: All the pictures I could find on the web, and the spec doc from Demag's website. The Demag doc has enough dimensions to make good 'estimates' I'm mostly on scale, but the scale varies slightly (approx 1:35, somethings up to 1:39) (...)   Re: Working LEGO Clock Tower

(...) Not that I care whether Larry believes that my clock isn't a hoax, but I have posted a couple of .AVI files that I shot today with my Vision Command camera. Of course in my eyes, any footage I've ever shot with that thing looks as if it (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Demag cc12600 Crawler Crane

(...) The ballast rigg is supported by wheels so than can bear heavy weights. (URL) suppose you use 20 x 30 technic wheels? Would it be possible to raise the ballast rigg or may the crane be unbalanced then? Big challange!! Dennis Bosman (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.modelteam)

  Re: Demag cc12600 Crawler Crane

(...) Here's a big LEGO crane with an axle boom: (URL) light, but you've less possibilities. With beams it's easier to build an extra drum in the boom for example. Dennis Bosman (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.modelteam)

  Re: Demag cc12600 Crawler Crane

It really looks terrific! It's definately a competitor of Ron Jansen: (URL) hasn't built boom sections yet because of lack of time. It progresses very slowly. Is Chris' crane built on scale? What kind of information do you use (pics, diagrams etc.)? (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.modelteam)

Re: Found the new Technic sets today!

I don't care about useful parts. I think they're just cute and I'll definitely buy them, if only to encourage Lego to keep on making sets like these... Duq "Tobbe Arnesson" <StPnAtM@lotek.nu> wrote in message news:HCnyxL.12K9@lugnet.com... (...) (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Working LEGO Clock Tower

(...) When I built it, the tick-tock noise seemed deafening. But at the train show, with the crowd, the trains, and all the other motorized stuff we had, you couldn't hear it from outside the layout. We had a mind-numbing layout with three trains (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Working LEGO Clock Tower

  Re: Working LEGO Clock Tower

(...) As you might imagine, the gears are packed in there pretty tight. I built the tower from the outside in: I decided how large it could be before it would look out-of-scale and then I tried like crazy to fit four clock faces in there. This is (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Working LEGO Clock Tower

(...) That is very sweet! As a person who tried, not hugely successfully, to get a Leo or Eric LEGO clock working, I'm so impressed that not only did you do it, you did it with 4 faces! Very nicely done! Dave K (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Working LEGO Clock Tower

(...) This seems like a really neat thing to have at a show, that's for sure. spotlighted. (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Working LEGO Clock Tower

(...) Have you considered making the tower more 'open', so people can see the mechanism? Maybe build the clock faces using clear bricks? This is too clever (and too much work!) to hide... :-) JohnG, GMLTC (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Working LEGO Clock Tower

Inspired by the works of Leo Dorst and Eric Harshbarger, I set out to build a working clock mechanism in a form factor that could be displayed on a train layout. The result of this two-week effort is my LEGO Clock Tower, which made its debut on (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.us.nelug) !!
