Call me a ditto head. I've had Ivar for 5 years and just keep getting
more. One thing I did that I wish I hadn't...

I used a very nice stain, but then did not put a wear surface shellac on
it... now the stain shows the original pine through where it took some
scratches (we have one upright the cats used for a scratching post or
something...)

IKEA continues to add to Ivar, they recently added a computer keyboard
shelf unit. Very handy.

Go here if you want to play with Ivar designs:

http://www.ikea-usa.com/content/furniture/designtools/furniture_designtools_ivar_tool.asp

Note that this URL is to an frame. IKEA site uses frames.. so for me to
give you a URL to the site with that frame visible is impossible, or at
least not something I know how to do. Frames suck.

If you want to see it in context, go to the main IKEA site, select USA,
select product guide, select design tools, select IVAR from the
dropdown.

(...) I use the IVAR series from IKEA. They are cheap, you can finish them or not, as you like, easy to assemble, disassemble, change configaration and move, and they are very strong - I have some in my living room holding the hardback book (...) (25 years ago, 16-Sep-99, to lugnet.storage)
