Re: My beautiful methods of storage

There is also the problem of whether you're continually rebuilding and unbuilding a model, to consider as well. If you're doing something like taking several hundred pieces apart in order to construct something totally different, then you're likely (...) (24 years ago, 1-Aug-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) Yeah, but if all your parts are built into models (as mine usually are) you don't need to store. I only break up models when I need the parts for another model, and then I use the left over peices to build something else. This leaves me with a (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jul-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) I disagree. A good storage system can make finding the right pieces easier, and therefore makes building easier. Well, of course, some people do go a little far, i.e. this box has 2x4 white bricks, this one has 2x2 black bricks, etc. But color (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jul-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

I've figured out the ultimate storage solution- don't. Build instead. :-) Mike (24 years ago, 31-Jul-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: A brick sorter?

(...) I recently made one which could sort white, gray and black 2x2 bricks into compatments. I did it more as an experiment than to serve any practicle purpose. I could probably get ti to work out the size of the bricks too, as I did have a motor (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jul-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: LEGO Cargo System

(...) use the LEGO Cargo System backpack as my grip (1) for work. It has held up much better then any other backpack or bag that I have used. It gets slung around the locomotive, banged into things, snagged, thrown down onto the ballast, you name (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.storage)

Re: Best storage option for RCXs?

(...) Always nice to hear of someone who loses count of something (as long as it's not Timmy or JarJar figs). :-) Anyhoo, I don't have an answer per se but do have a reminder that I think is worth repeating: Don't forget to take your batteries out!   Re: LEGO Cargo System

I believe Paul Sinasohn and a few others have this - you can get it at LIC Orlando (I'll be picking one up in Oct if S@H doesn't have them by then). You might want to call LIC/O and see how much they want for it and if they'll ship it. (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.storage)

  LEGO Cargo System

Has anyone used one of these LEGO bags for travel? I'm thinking of using one for portable Mindstorming. There is a built in baseplate under the face compartment. (URL) sells them at (URL) sets and parts for sale or trade: (URL) (24 years ago, 28-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.storage)

  A brick sorter?

I am wondering if anyone has made a brick sorter using Lego mindstorms or another robotics set (24 years ago, 23-Jul-00, to lugnet.storage)

  Best storage option for RCXs?

Anyone have a good suggestion for safely storing several RCXs? I think I have 8 RCXs now - yes, I've lost count... It's fun when your employer sells Mindstorms sets, and you can get them using an employee discount! <grin> I'm trying to find a small (...)   Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) As I break down sets, usually the minifigs get sorted as torso+arms+head and legs+hips. I only remove arms from torsos, and legs from hips when I am in the process of customizing. When I wash LEGO, the heads come off also. Sometimes when (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

I use Gladware, too; it's great for outsized elements, and it's not as cumbersome as tackle boxes. I especially like using Gladware for stuff I have sorted by type and not color, as then I can dump the Gladware container into a larger box to rifle (...)   Re: My beautiful methods of storage

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) I thought I was the only one who used Gladware and cardboard boxes! I have around 20 Gladwares and 20 envelope boxes with lids, and one huge shallow storage tub. I don't believe someone else uses Gladware. That's comforting. -Adam 8^D (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.storage)

Re: My beautiful methods of storage

(...) I use the those cheap Gladware lunch box size containers 25oz for main storage. They are the cheapest - about US$2 for a 5 pack, but strong and transparent. Since I don't put LEGO in microwave I expect those boxs to last a long time. :) And (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.storage)
