Does your reply, Tony, mean that you have a Destroyer Droid? If so, I think
you're the first Lugneteer to to get one. All I have seen so far is second
hand reports that say some other website reports that some guy saw some on
shelves, etc.

Well guys- have any of us seen them? In the UK? In the US (where I am)?

There are a couple of us in the UK at least, who have them. I got mine
last Wednesday, and built it that evening.

I have one too, found in the UK. 'Twas the only one, and to think
I actually risked going to get lunch before picking it up. Lucky
for me, it was still there when I returned half-an-hour later.
(Of course, other SW sets on the shelves had gone, including
half-a-dozen battle droids....)

It's a very pleasing model to build, but with the usual disclaimers
about my construction ability, it's not the most robust of models, and
it doesn't always open properly.

I am not that great building, either. I'd be inclined to say,
though, that it is certainly more complex than many other
Technic models.
That having been said, it looks great when open. And you quickly tire of
rolling it along the ground :-)

Awaiting errata-page scans! Mine doesn't open completely, yet!
I assume I must have made a mistake somewhere. I had already
found one, where I hadn't put some rubber bands when I should
have. But I find the model to be less functional with them
in place!!

Personally, I think it a fantastic set. My office is full of
SW maniacs. So, when I get it working as intended, can't
wait to have it on display!!

Even though it doesn't work completely as it should, it
looks brilliant. Other than 8880, probably the only Technic
model I possess that shall remain constructed.

NB, comes with a spare pack of rubber bands, and the 1st
pack contains twice as many as is needed. No doubt the
designers anticipated that it would remain constructed,
and enjoy loads of "play."
